Jeff Bezos Jeff Bezos is an American entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, best known as the founder, CEO, and former chairman of Amazon.com, one of the world's largest online retailers. Early Life and Education: Bezos was born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Jacklyn and Ted Jorgensen. His mother was just 17 years old when she gave birth to him, and his father was a bike shop owner. When Jeff was four years old, his parents divorced, and his mother remarried a Cuban immigrant named Miguel Bezos, who legally adopted Jeff and gave him his last name.
